Using double-lip embouchure as a tool to set balance between bite and tongue position
Working on articulation - listening for grunts
Don't be tempted to just tongue really lightly, rather hear the grunt and have you work through it
Tongue opening on hairpins, better to keep the tongue and feel like you have only a small dynamic range.
Mozart Rondo - read the first couple of sections.

Lesson 6
Reed on the lipline, move lip out a little, a little less resistance, use tongue position for sound just a little more
Clarinet comes up to meet teeth, walrus tusks come down to the top of the mouthpiece. How much walrus tusks is enough? When altissimo range blows freely.
oo first, then add walrus tusks
Kroepsch - E minor
Mozart readthrough - add rondo
Rose #9 and #18 for voicing work
so, maybe we will work on articulation next time

Lesson 4
Kroepsch - voicing is getting much better, much more consistent. Using a 3 reed today
adjustments today, looser, more forward feeling. little bit more forward jaw.
Rose #18 keeping LH position in place
Rose p. 17 18 this week. Working on keeping embouchure feeling looser and forward, watching hand position.
slightly harder reed needed in about 3 weeks.

Lesson 3
getting comfortable with blowing steadily on the reed and focusing more than you think, which adds resistance. We aren't looking for minimum resistance, we are looking for stability between registers, which means making the tongue resist the air more.
added the idea of walrus tusks, to aid ease of intervals, to bring the pitch down also
Kroepsch A minor
Mozart 2nd mvt
Rose #14 and #18 for next time

Keeping the voicing more set as you go down.
Kroepsch C major - balance your energy between fingers and voicing consistency, keeping your tongue in that "high C position."
Rose #4 and #14
Mozart 2nd movement
Feb 6 is next lesson

Lesson 1 - Getting organized
Challenge of the RH side keys
curled under top lip
nice general finger movement
avoiding airspeed
mouthpiece alone, little tight up front
register break is a challenge
Assignment: Klose scales, page 1
using the CGE voicing test and then practicing maintaining that shape
Kroepsch E-flat major - work on awareness of "wa wa", instead, use steady air
Rose #4 p. 4 - as bright as you can maintain
